The Gift of Sweet Spanish Expressions for Mom on Mother’s Day
As Mother’s Day approaches, we’re all likely brainstorming what to give Mom. Well, we’re here to take some of the guesswork out of picking the perfect gift for the most special lady in your life. What better gift for little ones to give their mothers than sweet words to show their love and gratitude for everything they do? Best part, it’s free! Showing love in their second language adds an extra layer of appreciation and pride from mom as she likely works hard to practice it with her children at home.
For families working on introducing Spanish at home, our friends at Binibi, whose bilingual sound books you can find on our site, have compiled a list of five loving sentences dads can practice with their children to say to mom on her special day. NOTE: Dads, try practicing these a week or so before Mother’s Day so your little ones can perfect them in time. Practice them every night before bed because when it comes to language learning, practice makes perfect! On Mother’s Day, have your children pair them with some flowers or sweets that she’ll surely love as well!
- I love you so much, mom! → ¡Te quiero mucho, mamá!
- You’re the best mom in the world! → ¡Eres la mejor mamá del mundo!
- Thank you for all you do for me! → ¡Gracias por todo lo que haces por mí!
- I don’t know what I would do without you! →¡No sé qué haría sin ti!
- Thank you for always taking care of me and protecting me! → ¡Gracias por siempre cuidarme y protegerme!
If this doesn’t make her smile and her heart swell, we don’t know what will! Little ones will not only be proud to have mastered these beautiful Spanish sentences but will also enjoy seeing how happy they make mom. Her reaction may even encourage them to learn more nice things to say in Spanish!
Be sure to check out Binibi’s bilingual children’s books that are also a treat for mom as they’ll give her an additional tool to help her kiddos practice Spanish at home. You can also find bilingual educational resources on their site for more tips, activities and guidance!
