Heartfelt Ways to Celebrate Women’s History Month

Share Stories of Inspiring Women
Kids love a good story! Women’s History Month is the perfect time to share inspiring women through age-appropriate picture books or videos about trailblazers like Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai, Amelia Earhart, and more. And don’t forget to highlight the everyday heroes they see around them, too. Teachers, doctors, and community leaders are all great examples of courage, determination, and compassion.

Write a Sincere Thank-You Card
Sometimes, the simplest gestures mean the most. Sit down with your child and help them write a thank-you card to a woman they admire—like their teacher, a family member, or a neighbor. Encourage them to share what makes that person special and how they’ve made a difference in their life. Decorate the card with stickers, drawings, or colorful markers to make it extra cheerful.

Help Them Find Their Voice
Let your child know their thoughts and feelings matter. Encourage them to speak up, whether they’re sharing ideas at the dinner table or standing up for a friend. Listen closely and let them know their voice counts. Reminding them that their opinions are important is a great way to ensure they grow comfortable speaking up.

Break Down Stereotypes Together
Talk to your kids about how everyone, regardless of gender, can follow their dreams. Encourage both boys and girls to be bold, adventurous, nurturing and sensitive. Whether they love sports, dance, science, or fashion, show them there’s no limit to what they can explore.

Celebrate the Women in Their Lives
Help your child recognize the strong, kind, and inspiring women they see every day. It could be their grandma, their babysitter, a family friend, or people you see while out and about! Encourage them to notice how important women are everywhere you go.

Teach Them to Stand Up for Women
Women’s History Month is the perfect time to discuss fairness and equality. Explain to your child why standing up for women’s rights and speaking out against unfairness matters. Even small acts of fairness and encouragement can help shape a more supportive and equal world.
