Dressing your baby

• One of the great mysteries of motherhood is clothing sizes for baby. Typically, the right size for baby clothing is double the baby's age (ex. a three month old wears a six month size).
• Babies grow fast. If the baby is on the border of one size versus another, select the larger size, as baby will grow into the garment.
• Look for clothes that  make diaper changes easy.  Snaps and zippers like those on Gerber® brand clothing items are essential for easy dressing. Gerber® brand gowns with elastic bottoms are great for newborns and the constant diaper changes.

Doing Laundry

• Use gentle detergents. Never use additives like fabric softners or anti-static agents because they could irritate an infant's sensitive skin.
• Wash all clothes and bedding before use so they're as soft and comfortable as possible.
• Always follow the washing instructions on flame retardant fabrics used in sleepwear.
• Try to wash a load here and there between other tasks so doing laundry doesn't seem like such a monumental chore.
